« Fantômes zinzins »
On October 16, the children from the Preschool, Middle, and Upper Kindergarten classes (PS-MS-GS) had the special privilege of welcoming author Jean Maury and illustrator Boris Aravindabalan, also known as “Sketchman Boris”. Together, they presented their new bilingual work : Crazy Ghosts (Fantômes zinzins).
Ghosts Arrive in Bangkok !
The children were treated to three stories : Cléant-Main, Miauline, and Ballerine, each one more entertaining than the last! The beautiful illustrations sparked the children’s curiosity and imagination.
But there’s something special worth mentioning… The stories were written in both French and Thai ! A feature that the children absolutely loved.
The storytime session at school was such a success that the teachers decided to read them again during the Spooky Camp over the October holidays.
Later, Jean Maury led a series of interactive activities that quickly captured the children’s attention. This included Q&A sessions, riddles, and drawing lessons inspired by the stories. On our Instagram account, our followers could even see some of the children’s sketches of the book’s characters!
These activities gave the children an opportunity to develop their language skills in both French and English (as the classes were mixed), while also enhancing their fine motor skills through the drawing exercises.
At La Petite Ecole Bangkok, we value creative and playful learning experiences that take children beyond their usual curriculum and spark their curiosity.
The school had a wonderful afternoon discovering these ghostly tales, perfectly timed just before the Halloween celebrations !
